I am trying to repair a 1986 Comet 3kv and have ordered bridgeport parts . I am replacing the rt x axis bearing retainer, the quill feed knob, drive belt ( varidrive) etc. the mill seems to e a "true" clone other than some metric fasteners I have already replaced the rt x dial holder and the bridgeport part is an exact fit replacement. hope I am as lucky …

I have a Modern Mill, also mid 80's made, which is damn near identical to the comet, which is near identical to the Birmingham.....My Modern is in pretty good cond. has a 9X49 table, 3HP vari-speed head.
